Sunday Post Edition 7

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Hellloooo everyone!

My blog is in serious need of some attention.  I thought just the holidays were bad, but then I could't keep an internet connection long enough to actually write a post or review.  It's funny, I think it is Dell's.  Everyone in the house suddenly couldn't hold a connection.  I've had to buy USB wireless adapters for all the Dell machines.  The only thing we did different for Christmas was add one wired desktop machine and one Dell laptop.  It was maddening not to be able to get on.  Especially after I finished Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian.  I SO want to rant and rave on that book.  I will post my review for that one on release day.  Make sure to watch for it!
With all the extra time away from the computer, I was able to get some reading done.  I loved every second of it.  We had a white Christmas here in TX which kind of ruined our plans for holiday dinner.  Instead I put in some time assembling gifts that Santa always seems to forget to put together before he leaves them.  Silly man.

I was trying to do some holiday reads and I was disappointed that one of my picks, Mistletoe Mischief was actually a "Christmas in July" contemporary romance.  It wasn't really what I was looking for.  A cute read though.  It's the beginning of a series and I think the next one is set during the Christmas season, but I just wanted to move on.  Maybe I will get back to it next year.

I read and reviewed The Bite Before Christmas, which I enjoyed.  *Waving my Bones flag in the air*.  I can't say enough how much I love that guy!  Cat's a great strong and funny heroine, love her too.  I canNOT wait until Up From the Grave comes out.  I love Jeaniene Frost, we need to clone her so we can get her books out faster!

I am a Kelley Armstrong fan who was very disappointed to see the Women of the Otherworld series end, so when I found this little short story gem, I just had to download it.  Amityville Horrible is a story featuring Jaime Vega.  It has kind of made me look at all the "ghost" shows I watch on TV a little closer.  Who can say what is real and not real?  I guess that is kind of the excitement of them anyway, right?  I also read another of Kelley's e-specials, The Hunter and the Hunted.  This book features Clay and Elena, from Clay's POV.  I've never read any of the guys POV from this series and I enjoyed it and was thinking maybe I will read the Men of the Otherworld book.  Will have to add it to that ever-growing TBR.  There is also a story with Eve as well.  Her stories are a little different for me since she is in a completely different realm and I'm not familiar with it.

Currently, I'm still working through Kresley Cole's Immortal After Dark series. Right now I'm on Dreams of a Dark Warrior.  Regin's story and right now, I just don't see how an HEA is going to come out of this one.  I do know I love Regin, she is so witty.

So that leaves what is upcoming.  I did finish Kill You Twice by Chelsea Cain and will do a review on that.  I really liked that one better than Night Season.  I would also like to review the IAD I have finished recently, so that would be Pleasure of a Dark Prince and Demon From the Dark.
I need to find some good images for my Twitter now too.  Add that to my New Year's list of things to do.  Number one, new Twitter design, number two, full blog redesign.  That one should take me a good long time.  It would be easier if I could think of what I want instead of seeing other's cool designs and thinking "I want that".  I guess that is what a good designer could do for me.  The search is ON!  I was inspired by Felicia at the Geeky Bloggers Book blog to organize my books.  I said inspired, whether that will become an actual action item is still to be determined.  She did an awesome job and the length of time something like that takes is very daunting.

So what is at the top of YOUR to do list for 2013?  Don't forget to leave some recs for good blog designers!

Have a good week!
Tanya

    1. It was kind of nice to sit back and get some good reads in. I've seen some of Giselle's work but I don't think I've seen anything from Vicki before, I will have to check out some of her work. Thanks for the recs!

  2. If you are a Kelley Armstrong fan you should read men of the Otherworld. It really contains some great stories, especially those of Clays past. I am a big Kelley Armstrong fan myself and I've many of her books, but for some reason I can't order e-books like Amityville Horrible, I can't buy them because I don't live in the US. Strange huh.

    1. I see I've had Men of the Otherworld on my TBR, for some reason I just haven't gotten to it. It sounds good, I love Clay. It really sucks you can't get the e-books, I wish I could send them to you! Where do you live?

  3. I wasn't aware that Chelsea Cain had a new book out. Not sure how I over looked it.

  7. I can't stand computer/internet problems. There is just something about them that makes me want to try over and over and I can't let it rest.
The new year seems to have everyone thinking about a overhaul. I made some changes on my blog. It isn't necessarily better, but it is the simple, clean layout that I am in the mood for right now.
I have had my eye on Kill You Twice, so I am looking forward to your review.

  8. Not being able to connect would be torture! But I'm glad you got some reading done. I've been uncharacteristically blowing through some books over the last two weeks myself which has been nice.

I don't have any recommendations for any blog designers though...sorry.

Check out my IMM & SP.
