Merit has been a vampire for only a short while, but she’s already seen a lifetime’s worth of trouble. She and her Master, centuries-old Ethan Sullivan, have risked their lives time and again to save the city they love. But not all of Chicago is loving them back.
Anti-vampire riots are erupting all over town, striking vampires where it hurts the most. A splinter group armed with Molotov cocktails and deep-seated hate is intent on clearing the fanged from the Windy City come hell or high water.
Merit and her allies rush to figure out who’s behind the attacks, who will be targeted next, and whether there’s any way to stop the wanton destruction. The battle for Chicago is just beginning, and Merit is running out of time.
Today is the day! Release day for Biting Bad by Chloe Neill! Congrats Chloe!
Chicago's vampires are on the receiving end of a serious hate group. Well Cadogan's house is actually facing the threat of two groups as the GP is still on a mission to punish them for defecting. This threat to the vampires will take the joining of ally forces to find the instigator and expose him without making the vampires seem violent and like the monsters they are accused of being.
With the Chicagoland Vampire series, I've learned that anything could happen. That I can't get the complacent, "oh, it's a main character, they'll survive" feeling during scenes. In Biting Bad, I had a few scenes that had me holding my breath and worrying about the lives of my favorite characters.
Merit and Ethan work so well together. Ethan has just the right amount of protectiveness, just enough so that Merit knows he cares, but not too much to stifle her. There was none of the relationship angst so we are focused mainly on saving the vampires. There are lots of tear up romantic moments. Ethan is SO romantic! *sigh*
Biting Bad is going to make you want a happy ending for Jonah. As the only RG partners not dating, he really needs someone to take his mind off of Merit.
I was really glad to see the development of Mallory. I still like Lindsey as Merit's best friend better, but Mallory has been there from the start and I really want to see her recover from her past.
Biting Bad was a lot of fun and it was great to see all the characters working together. Thank you to the publisher and Chloe for providing this book for an honest review. I give this book at 4.5 and am sure to see it on the best sellers list this week! Make sure to pick this one up!
