Review ~ House Rules by Chloe Neill

Goodreads Synopsis

In a city full of vampires, trouble never sleeps.

At the tender age of 27, Merit became a sword-wielding vampire. Since then, she’s become the protector of her House, watched Chicago nearly burn to the ground, and seen her Master fall and rise. Now she’ll see her mettle—and her metal —tested like never before.

It started with two . . . Two rogues vanishing without a trace. Someone is targeting Chicago’s vampires, and anyone could be next. With their house in peril, Merit and her Master, the centuries old Ethan Sullivan, must race to stop the disappearances. But as they untangle a web of secret alliances and ancient evils, they realize their foe is more familiar, and more powerful, than they could have ever imagined.

My Review ~

I have to admit.  The Chicagoland Vampires series has stolen my heart, so I have loved every book, including House Rules.  I may be a little biased, so keep that in mind.

I absolutely loved House Rules.  We start out thinking that Ethan and Merit's relationship is stable, but of course, as always, something will put them at odds.  This always means trouble, but I think the way the two of them are dealing with their troubles has improved.

Cadogan house is finally leaving the GP!  There is expected retaliation as the GP does not suffer Rogues, but Cadogan house is strong and I just dare the GP to mess with MY house!

Then of course you have the vanishing Rogues.  Ethan and Merit are out to help, no matter what affiliation you might have.  Chicago is their city and they will protect the vampires and humans within it.  No matter what the mayor says or does to prove otherwise.

House Rules is drama and action packed.  I loved every minute of it and am chomping at the bit for Biting Bad.  All pre-ordered, just need the darn thing to hurry up and download!

Rating:  5 stars (of course, it is CV, how can I not rate it 5!)
